Ms.
Petitt has practiced law in the Denver area since 1987.
Her practice focuses primarily on water rights litigation, but has
also included water quality, Indian reserved rights, real estate,
environmental, estate planning and probate matters.
Her past and present clients include the City of Aurora, the City
of Thornton, the Breckenridge Ski Area, the Colorado Division of Wildlife,
and the State of Wyoming. She
has represented clients in Colorado Water Court, Divisions 1 and 2, Summit
County District Court, Denver District and County Courts, and in appeals
before the Colorado Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. Ms.
Petitt graduated cum laude from Minnesota State University in 1983 with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and earned her J.D.,
with distinction, from the University of North Dakota in 1987.
While in law school, she received the American Jurisprudence Award
for Excellence. Ms. Petitt
has written for The Colorado Lawyer. Ms. Petitt is also a licensed real estate broker in the State of Colorado.
